• This latest model has been completely redesigned, incorporating extensive upgrades based on valuable feedback from riders and distributors. • 13,5KW IPM Motor with upgraded stator/rotor and revised air cooling, 95% efficiency
• With the enhanced performance of the MX5, Talaria re-engineered the brake system to ensure superior safety and reliable stopping power. Both the front and rear calipers and rotors have been upgraded, now featuring oversized 220x3.0 mm rotors. This provides the MX5 with approximately 20% more stopping power and improved heat dissipation. The larger calipers deliver exceptional braking force, even at high speeds. Additionally, the brake pads have been upgraded to nearly double the size of those on the MX4, crafted from a specially developed advanced compound designed by Talaria for this model. These improvements result in significantly better stopping power, smoother brake operation, longer brake, and enhanced overall braking reliability.
• One of the standout new features exclusive to the Talaria MX5 is the on-demand variable regenerative braking, and it's something we’re especially excited about. In addition to the 4 selectable levels of regen, the MX5 introduces a new thumb-actuated lever that allows you to adjust the regenerative braking level smoothly and intuitively. This lever functions much like a brake lever, giving you real-time control over how much regen you want. The harder you press, the more regenerative braking is engaged—without the risk of overheating your rotors. This feature not only improves efficiency and extends range, but it also helps protect your mechanical braking system. Until now, variable regenerative braking was a feature typically found only on high-end custom bikes with aftermarket controllers. Now, it comes standard on the MX5.
• The MX5 is equipped with an advanced IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motor, featuring larger, more powerful magnets and an improved cooling system for enhanced performance. This upgrade results in greater efficiency, better heat dissipation, and, most importantly, significantly improved reliability over previous motor designs. Common issues in earlier models, such as magnets loosening or demagnetizing, and hall sensors becoming dislodged, have been addressed. Additionally, this motor incorporates a magnetic encoder, eliminating the need for hall sensors altogether.
• Should you choose to upgrade the bike with a more powerful controller, this motor is designed to handle much higher power levels than its predecessor. Thanks to its increased efficiency, it not only delivers more power but also operates at higher RPMs, providing a smoother, more robust power curve. With a 95% efficiency rating, this is the most efficient Talaria motor to date—resulting in both greater power output and extended range, making the MX5 even more capable as a compact electric vehicle.
• For the first time in a Talaria eBike, the system voltage has been upgraded from 60V to 72V, delivering enhanced torque, higher speeds, and improved motor cooling.
• The MX5 is powered by a 40Ah, 72V battery (2880 watt-hours) built with high-performance Samsung 50s 21700 (5000mAh) cells, designed to support the high power demands of this bike. While the battery capacity may be lower in amp-hours compared to other bikes on the market, the 72V system ensures an impressive 2880 watt-hours, making it the largest battery available in this class. • The MX5 features a custom-designed Talaria Factory Suspension, engineered specifically for this model. To accommodate the increased power and weight, the suspension system has been upgraded. The rear shock now features a stiffer 550-850 lbs/inch progressive spring, complete with adjustable compression and rebound settings for enhanced performance. The front fork is air-adjustable and incorporates an internal double-spring setup, offering adjustable compression, rebound, and preload to fine-tune the ride to your preference.
• The Talaria MX5 is equipped with a newly designed, more durable gearbox featuring reinforced mounts and upgraded gears for improved gear reduction. This enhancement not only makes the MX5 quieter but also significantly increases its reliability compared to the Surron, eliminating common issues like broken or slipping belts, which can fail and leave you stranded. While the gearbox in the MX4 was already one of the most reliable components with minimal failures, the MX5 takes it a step further with an even more robust design, built to handle the higher power output and demands of this advanced bike.
